Other Bountystorm hunters have proposed Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter. You should have a combined effort in redirecting visitors to your site. I would spend the $500 on a copywriter making some catchy phrases to put them in the social networks you join.

To see where the majority of visitors are coming from. Make sure you promote the site on place where people come which have the pro-life interest. (Your site needs to be improved also as it contains a header which is heavy on load time and has a html error at the bottom.)
Suggested by Frank

"I don't see the error, could you be more specific?"    - Kelsey
"In IE and Safari it is fine. Check in FF 3.5 it will show a break in the bottom part of the box caused by a comment ending '-->' "    - Frank

You must understand that everyone is prolife. Nobody wants abortion. The debate is about having control over your own body. If you create a situation in which everyone can choose life , they will. To advertise, write an article with your enlighteded view in the editorial section of the New York Times. Mention your website as a reference for more info on your views. You'll get a lot of hits-trust me.

Ebay is my passion and you reach millions of people. Have a fund raiser selling items to benefit your cause and in the description type in what your organization is about. AND make revenue for more advertisement and possibly reach those who would gladly sponsor you and donate to your cause by buying the items sold. I have more ideas...

My husband & I have run a LOA group for almost 2 years and we have successfully had 3 discussion groups going for that time. From that group of people we have had workshops promoting our ideas. We also go to other local meetup groups to get to know other people. We have amazing results with very little cost since the workshops have fees which cover them.

Write a review for a book or product on AMAZON that aligns with your community and refer to you website. Make a YOUTUBE video that just promotes the existence of your website and may draw like-minded people to find it during a search (could be fun, humorous, entertaining...most important memorable and hopefully will inspire people to share and spread it. Comment on articles through YAHOO and GOOGLE and CNN and tie your comments to your website. Basically "plaster" your web-site name and purpose within FREE posting and sharing opportunities across the web. I would respect the sites you contribute comments and materials to by at least making some "clear" connection that at least makes sense to your efforts. Using the community building tools of various websites to help "spread" the word of your website. The more people know about the more likely people will come to visit and hopefully your community will start to cultivate.

Find existing web communities that are at least "open" to learn about your website and reach out to them as community by promoting or cross-marketing their efforts. GIVE to GET type of approach. Build awareness of your "neighbors" to strengthen and expand the "community" of users you are seeking. From banner ads to cross-links to blogs and general communication showing your support for other causes that appeal to the type of users you are seeking to connect with.

Utilize your early visitors/supporters to perhaps reach out with in their own circles to spread the word of your site and effort. Consider offering up a prize for incentive, like an IPOD or perhaps a gift card to AMAZON or something widely valued. You won't be creating SPAM if you are asking people to contact friends and such build awareness of the website. The added value is that most people who do learn and come to your site are more likely to be like-minded. With a central issue of PRO LIFE as the main cause, you may want to strive foe "quality" over "quantity", to be clear a core community of supporters is perhaps more valuable to your objectives than large volume of people who don't care or don't align with your perspective. INCENTIVE + SHARED VALUE = COMMUNITY (based on my experiences and observations)
