Using the existing community to solicit more users could be facilitated by some type of rewards program. I solicit 10 friends they each solicit 10 friends and so on and so on. No PONZI schemes, but rather a genuine RECRUIT and REWARD type program where perhaps the reward is not CASH...maybe coupons to STARBUCKS or some other potential sponsoring company. The DUAL cross promotion could mutually bring awareness to BOUNTYSTORMS as well as grow customers to the sponsor or multiple sponsors. Creative people often serve as they "experts" or "idea people" within their social and work circles, so harnessing their informal and formal influences and rewarding the expanding circles of participants could be very effective if executed properly.

Imagine if people could brainstorm about a new product feature or marketing campaign or naming a new offering that will be in the global marketplace. Consider the possibilities if a COCA-COLA, NIKE, SONY, INTEL or Procter and Gamble could sponsor and utilize BOUNTYSTORMS to impact any of their efforts moving forward. Customers influencing Business, this site has so much potential, but needs more exposure and community building. Maybe a big brand and some cross promotion could help accelerate that?

To grow awareness of this website, perhaps a HIGH PAYING Bountystorm could be used to help the existing community of users and supporters spread the word and help expand the community. I don't participate for the money, I welcome the creative challenge and connecting with fellow "BRAINSTORMERS". Raise some funds to GROW the BOUNTY and hopefully more will come.

The only way I can imagine to spread the name & purpose of bounty storms is with traditional advertising & bit of online marketing. Write a press release about bounty storms & send it to major blogs. If you can reflect about the concept of bounty storms & the idea of making money from ideas, then it'd make an interesting article for wired or similar magazines/blogs. Also figure out a way to advertise on G4, science channel, discovery etc. It'd bring in a whole lot of new members, I think the ratio of bounties & suggestions will still be equal. Also have you thought about putting the bounties in categories? it'd probably be needed once the site get's bigger. Especially if there are multiple bounties at the same time. Also a badge system that displays the current bounty so members can advertise bounty storm on there blog or site. A javascript(custom style) & flash version would be nice.

You need to post your startup on YouNoodle and get whatever buzz you can there. Might even get more "thoughtful" types involved.
