People buy from people they know and trust. Twitter helps build your personal brand and attract like minded people. Twitter would be ideal for these sites, as you could send updates centrally & save on bandwidth. Traditionally to get information real time you would have to subscribe to RSS feeds or hammer the F5 key :)

The world changes constantly & sometimes you don't have time to check on everything. Using twitter you can follow people who twit about trends that effect your business or personal life & get the information more often then a newsletter without the need to use RSS feeds.

Open a FuelFrog account (it will ask for your twitter username) and enter a few inputs, i.e. miles travelled, gas price, gas volume purchased. It will spit out your MPG/KPL and let you know how efficient of a driver you are.

This means Urgent, Help A Reporter Out. In other words, this means that there is a reporter who is looking for help with a story. If you have an angle to pitch that's also a way to help the reporter out, it could be a win-win made possible by twitter.
