Need a name for "energy gauge concept". Need name of the gauge to illustrate how much more efficient or inefficient a house has become. The gadget allows the homeowner to show the change in efficiency over time (like last 12 months, last 3 years, last 5 years, etc.). The name should reflect the use of words like efficiency, green, conservation, environmental, or something like that. Please describe how the gauge would look.

Has to be something unexpected. When's the last time you actually looked at the thermostat in your house? The Hawaiian Hula doll moves faster when you're using more energy and stands still when you're in stasis. I don't get the long-term references.

When I think of a tool to 'gauge' or 'measure', -ometer immediately comes to mind. Green is the buzz word now for energy efficiency.
I can't describe it without knowing where/how you plan to use it.

A gauge measuring percentage change in energy efficiency. Based on given parameters, it comes up with a ranges for target change, red being bad, yellow being ok, and green being good. The gauge's pointer could be a thumb that changes color based on the range it is in, with the goal being to have a "green thumb."
